Apple Picking

We went home with about 10 apples.  Not really the best picked apples. Some bruieses, holes, and possibly a bug or two.   As a little girl, I can remember going to the apple orchards with my parents.   My twin sister and  I would head off down the fields exploring.   Looking for stray kittens mostly.    When I take my kids to the apple orchards now, its not really about finding the best apples for the best apple pies…its just an adventure.  A memory for them to share.

A bumpy and windy hayrack ride.   The smell of diesel if you’re lucky enough to sit towards front.  YACK!! Apples rolling loose on the trailer floor.   Hunting for the grapes that taste like candy.   Matchbox cars in the dirt.  Caramel apple oatmeal cookies.   Apple cider slushies.   This particular orchard served beer.  Looking back, I should have participated more in that.

A few snaps from the day. You even get to see dad make an appearance.  I know, I know, “you never share pics of dad.”  insert comment.
